The Senior Azure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role requires an in-depth understanding of cloud architecture, services, and security particularly in the context of landing zones, Azure policy and networking. The Senior Azure Engineer will work closely with development, platform enablement and cloud operations teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of cloud-based applications.
Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture Design: Design, develop and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions on Azure.

Deployment and Management: Oversee the deployment, management, and operation of Azure services and resources.

Automation and Scripting: Create and maintain automation scripts using Terraform, PowerShell, ARM templates, JSON and other tools to streamline cloud deployments and operations.

Security and Compliance: Ensure that Azure solutions adhere to best practices for security, compliance, and governance via automated processes such as EPAC and Azure policy.

Networking: Design, support and troubleshoot cloud networking technologies such as VWANs, VNETs, and NSGs.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud applications and infrastructure.

Collaboration: Collaborate with peer organizations, product delivery teams, and support organizations on technical issues and provide guidance.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Azure services and applications.

Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, configurations, and procedures.

Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and other team members.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 3 years of practical experience working with cloud-based solutions specifically in Microsoft Azure.

Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Azure services, including Azure DevOps, Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL Database, and networking.

Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates.

Security Best Practices: Comprehensive understanding of security practices and compliance standards relevant to Azure environments.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Additional Certifications: Additional Azure certifications such as Azure Security Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer.
