Job Summary
The Senior Research Associate will be an essential team member in active clinical research and/or quality improvement work being conducted at Denver Health (DHHA). Under supervision, the Senior Research Associate manages various research-related activities for projects that focus on a variety of topics related to health- and healthcare services. The Senior Research Associate may be required to support multiple multi-site projects at different locations, such as DHHA main campus, community clinics, and urgent outpatient settings. To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess strong organizational skills, a desire for team improvement and growth, and robust interpersonal skills. The below responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature of this role and should not be construed as a holistic list. General responsibilities include subject-related activities, data collection, entry, and management, and data analysis, reporting, and dissemination. Research administration duties include assisting with development of study and regulatory materials, and training junior/new team members in research and protocol activities. Additional duties may include assisting with literature reviews and regulatory submissions, and acting as point of contact for study participants.
Essential Functions:
- Manages subject-related activities, such as overseeing team activities related to recruitment, chart review, collecting samples, patient navigation and scheduling, performing subject interviews, conducting focus groups, and tracking outcomes. (15%)
- Creates, establishes, and sustains a standardized process to maintain clear, concise, and organized records. (10%)
- Ensures eligibility while treating participants with courtesy, dignity, empathy, and respect. (10%)
- Acts as primary point of contact for study participants. (10%)
- Manages data management activities, including monitoring team activities relating to collection and entry, assessment for accuracy, and intervention fidelity. (10%)
- Exercises confidentiality regarding patient and other sensitive information. (5%)
- Manages the study database(s), analysis and reporting, and disseminating results. (5%)
- Leads literature reviews, which may include literature searches, organizing results and summarizing findings. (5%)
- Prepares and maintains all regulatory documentation. (5%)
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with research subjects, teams, collaborators, and colleagues. (5%)
- Trains junior/new team members in research and protocol activities. (5%)
- Assists in development of study protocols and procedures. (5%)
- Monitors study team for adherence to all protocol, policy and regulatory requirements required to conduct human subjects research, including training requirements for COMIRB and CITI. (5%)
- Remains aware of ways to improve team processes and brings them to leadership’s attention, aligning with DHHA’s Lean management principles. (5%)
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Required or
- 4-6 years of related experience in lieu of degree. Required
Work Experience:
- 4-6 years Related experience. Required
Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with team and participants, and to train junior/new team members.
- Ability to be comfortable working with diverse populations.
- Sound organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of protocol adherence, and advanced research practices.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for study protocols.
- Knowledge of advanced research methods, rules of patient confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of database programs, advanced data analysis practices, synthesis of findings, and ability to monitor team activities for compliance and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, learn research methods, and apply general research best practices.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
