You will be responsible for activities involved in identifying hazardous workplace conditions and take effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state Occupational Safety and Health standard provisions. You will assist in the development and implementation of short- and long-range plans and continuously improve EHS performance.

What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the completion of complex projects, manage own time to meet agreed targets, and develop plans for work activities on own projects within a team.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and inquiries involving environmental, health, and safety issues.
  • Develop working relationships with site functional groups and work to support EHS initiatives within Operations.
  • Educate other individuals with training responsibilities (Train-the-trainer) so that they can communicate information to others within their organizations, as needed.
  • Support the effective integration of EHS into the day-to-day management and meeting structures within the functional area.
  • Become familiar with operational activities, identify opportunities for improvement and coordinate with local safety champions/management to bring forward improvement projects.
  • Perform site inspections and recommend, monitor and implement corrective and preventive actions, as required.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of EHS (Local applications) computer databases and utilize a wide variety of other internal and external databases.
  • Maintain knowledge of the capital project system and participate on project teams.
  • Be willing to learn new skills/subjects and grow within the Sr. Associate position.
  • All other duties as assigned


Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least two years of experience or a master's degree with more than 0 years of experience or an associate's degree with 6 years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with safety program development and cross-functional implementation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, creativity in problem solving and flexibility.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be comfortable making presentations to groups and representing the department/facility externally.


Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)

  • Professional safety certifications from accredited agencies such as the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or the National Safety Council
  • P rocess Safety, Engineering, Loss or Risk Control, and/or Construction Safety Experience, with the ability to read and understand diagrams.
  • Change Management or Management of Change experience
  • Experience working within a risk management program framework. (i.e. PSM/RMP, CCPS, ISO 31000)
  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience in the application of regulations and industrial codes ( RAGAGEP : IBC, NFPA, NEC, etc.) in operations.
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety management systems (ISO 14001/45001).


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to general laboratory and/or manufacturing areas; work near moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders, and lift and carry up to 25 pounds for limited distances.


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Job is in support of a 24-hour/7-day operation and weekend/overnight support will be needed as required.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $80 300,00 to $133 900,00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10,0% of the base salary.
