Job Description

As C&A team, we are proud to conceptualize and realize commercially viable products to food, dietary supplements, and pharmaceutical customers by working closely with cross functional teams. We enable the growth by creation of new ingredients, new format, new technology to process probiotics and other active ingredients in broader format from tablet, capsule, sachet, stick, food & beverage, to new format beyond and defend our market leading position by technical in-depth and scientific expertise.

As a Senior Application Specialist, you will be responsible for formulating Probiotic and other active ingredients into various formats, providing technical support to new and existing customers, working with cross-functional team like product management, regulation, quality, supply chain to deliver customized solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To succeed in this position, the candidate should be able to perform the following tasks, including but not limited to:

• Provide formulation and application of Probiotic and other active ingredients per customer product design.
• Contribute to translating product data into effective marketing and sales tools, provide product or technical training as needed.
• Provide application/formulation solutions to new and existing customers of formats ranging from capsules, sticks/sachets, bulk powders, oil drops, tablets and beyond.
• Design and execute technical experiments from benchtop to pilot scale including
• hygroscopic evaluation, powder characteristic, capsule and tablet forming and evaluation and so on.
• Technical resource to sales professionals, customers and other internal/external
• partners e.g contract manufacturers, quality, regulation and operation.
• Identify, evaluate and develop raw materials and packaging materials going into various Finished Format.
• Being the liaison with Probiotic Development group in terms of enumeration method,
• probiotic stability program and providing insights into formulation impact
• Manage small to medium projects, priorities projects with business acumen.
• Communicate results to manager and project/program stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Work will be performed in an office setting (cubicle) 50%-80% and in a lab environment
• 20%-50% upon different projects.
• This position is anchor to the site but with flexibility to work remotely occasionally.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or engineering degree in a relevant discipline, such as Food, Pharmaceutical, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences and 9+ years’
• experience in industry
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and 3+ years’ experience in industry
• Application of Methodologies
• Experience with formulation and application
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Basic project management skills and design of experiment skills
• Good data analysis, reporting and presentation skills
• Experience with probiotics, powder dosage form, ingredients and packaging materials is preferred
