PROCESS BRIEF
One of FactSet’s key differentiators has always been the incorporation of client proprietary data in all aspects of FactSet’s products, in particular the Portfolio Analytics suite, via sophisticated, technical workflows. Portfolio Services is the cross team effort designed to improve and standardize the support and function for these critical workflows.
To complement the implementation specialists and engineers, Portfolio Services Process Coordinators oversee and support the critical client process from initial data integration through the processing and reporting stages. Coordinators are responsible for working with clients and internal stakeholders to help identify and resolve issues as they occur. Additionally, they will monitor and maintain the operation integrity of the many systems critical to these processes; including our fixed income analytics compute grids, file transfer infrastructure and custodial data framework
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
While this position is mostly operational in nature, an intermediate understanding of technology, finance/investing or ETL (extraction, transformation and load) processes will assist individuals in this role. Tools and workflows will be provided for individuals to use in this role – although outstanding candidates will be able to improve upon and optimize workflows and documentation.
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Create & follow support documentation for automated workflows
- Monitor automated mission critical client processes
- Proactively contact clients for process maintenance and troubleshooting
- Interpret and support scripts written in Windows batch, Perl, PowerShell and VBScript
- Use command-line (e.g. PGP, ZIP) and file transfer utilities (e.g. FTP, SFTP/SCP/SSH) and provide support to the Portfolio Services and Portfolio Analytics teams to model and vet the security analytics
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate/Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems and/or Finance
- Excellent time and task management abilities
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Business-level written and verbal English communication skills
- Experience interacting with clients remotely via phone, email and/or remote assistance tools
- Familiarity with or strong interest in the following concepts: networking, scripting/programming, relational databases, Unix/Linux and/or finance/investing
Experience:
12 to 24 months of experience in a relevant field
Skills:
- Basic understanding of Job Enterprise Data Delivery solutions
- Basic understanding of Software Development cycles
- Professional experience with three or more of the following:
- Unix-Linux
- FTP / SFTP / SCP / SSH / http transfers
- log design and troubleshooting
- Technical QA methodology
- Streaming data services
- Programmatic APIs
- SQL and other RDBMS platforms
- Windows batch / Perl / Powershell / VBScript
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word & Power Point)
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Highly Desired Attributes:
- Experience with procedural scripting
- Technical specification writing or maintenance experience of tools, enhancements, products
- Knowledge of financial databases used in financial markets
- Knowledge or experience with Enterprise software from FactSet, CapIQ, Thomson Reuters or Bloomberg
- Proven track record of guiding large projects to success
