Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this role provides critical financial analysis, forecasting and planning to support strategic decision-making and drive League’s success. You will lead in-depth examination of financial results against budgets, identify and assess trends, and support the FP&A leadership by developing action plans in order to optimize financial performance. As a Senior Analyst, you will collaborate cross-functionally across the organization and work closely with various departments to understand their financial needs and enable them to contribute to the overall financial health of League.
Key highlights for this role include:
- Overall Planning & Performance Support: Support developing and maintaining annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to gather relevant information.
- Month-end: Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual results and budget/forecasts. Investigate and explain the causes of variances, along with creating action plans to mitigate these variances.
- Business Partnership: Support business partners (S&M, G&A, Cost to Serve departments) with meaningful budgets, financial analysis, along with ad-hoc development of financial models for various projects. Evaluate financial viability and potential return on investment where necessary.
The role communicates effectively with department heads and senior management, providing clear and concise financial information and seeks feedback on bettering the relationship. - Cash Performance Analysis: Support the Financial Operations team in forecasting, tracking and reporting on our Cash performance.
- Administration of the Hiring Plan: Oversee the management of our hiring plan with our expense specialist, by providing meaningful insights (hiring velocity, vacancy, etc.) that inform key hiring decisions to ensure we hit our company roadmaps and milestones.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations to management.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Support the team where necessary to drive changes that help scale the team.
- Stay on top of best practices in FP&A, continuously seeking ways to improve the function's effectiveness.
Qualifications & Desired Characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis preferred
- Experience with Big 4 Audit Firms preferred but not required
- Experience with specific financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Planful) would be great to have but not required
- Proficiency in excel and financial modeling
- Great attention to detail and knowing numbers in and out
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Security-Related Responsibilities
- Compliance with Information Security Policies
- Responsibility and accountability for executing League's policies and procedures
- Notification of HR, Legal, Compliance & Security of any incidents, breaches or policy violation

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for base salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. Where in the band you may land is determined by job-related skills/experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range specific to your skills and experience during the hiring process.

$79,000—$118,600 CAD
