Job Description
The Role
This is a key enabling role within SEEK's well-established data analytics function, which was named a semi-finalist in the Centre of Business Analytics (Melbourne Business School) 2023 Practice Prize!
As a team, we are data and analytics experts who get marketing and are great at distilling commercial problems to create high-impact insights and/or enable business outcomes.
In this role, you will play an important part in delivering customer-focused analytics for marketing and chip in to key critical initiatives across the organisation.
We are looking for a structured thinker with experience in customer analytics and its application through marketing channels, as well as a validated experience of providing analytics expertise in cross-functional project teams, helping drive insight to action.
Key Responsibilities
- Data analysis and insight generation. Collect, analyse, report and interpret data from various sources to generate insight on marketing performance, campaign efficiency, and customer behaviour. Collaborate with a wide range of collaborators to understand their objectives and deliver analytics that is actionable and drives value.
- Cross-functional collaboration. Work closely with marketing teams to understand their data objectives and priorities. Represent marketing in cross functional data projects. Participate in cross-functional projects to delivery data-driven insights into marketing strategy and execution.
- Continuous improvement and innovation. Keep tabs on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in customer analytics. Find opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation to improve analytics capabilities and deliver efficiency.
- Employment market insight. Stay ahead and communicate insights of the employment market by keeping an eye on demographic, policy and economic trends that impact the employment sector.
- Data quality and assurance. Follow established quality assurance standards, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of analytical output
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Experience in a data analytics role that delivers tangible business outcomes, preferably within a marketing or commercial environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in data manipulation and statistical analysis using SQL, R, Python or similar programming languages.
- Experience working with large scale data platforms (e.g., DWH/relational databases, AWS/Azure).
- Experience with visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview).
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable collaborating and building strong relationships across diverse teams, especially with non-technical stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant commercial or quantitative discipline (e.g., commerce, marketing, economics, mathematics, technology).
Other Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Experience working across the marketing/advertising technology ecosystem a plus (eg, Google Analytics, BigQuery, CDP, Amplitude, Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
- Understanding of sophisticated analytics techniques and procedures (e.g., predictive analytics, statistical modelling) and applied knowledge of ‘when’ and ‘how’ to apply these appropriately.
- Understanding of digital marketing metrics and analytics techniques.
- Experience in marketing campaign measurement techniques and approaches to experimentation.
