THE POSITION

Keyera is currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Complex Accounting to join the Corporate Reporting team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with IFRS® Accounting Standards through research of accounting implications related to new accounting and regulatory standards, and complex or non-routine transactions. This role will also assist in completing duties related to the quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Corporate Reporting team, the successful candidate will be given responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Research acceptable accounting treatment and disclosure alternatives for complex and non-routine transactions, and prepare related technical accounting memos and documentation
  • Maintain awareness of and research new and emerging IFRS accounting standards, and related regulatory requirements
  • Advise management and cross-functional teams on accounting-related issues
  • Actively participate in the execution of accounting-related projects, including the implementation of new IFRS Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle by preparing working papers and related analysis to support the consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes
  • Provide support in the preparation of supporting documentation for the MD&A and securities filings
  • Ad hoc assignments supporting Corporate Reporting and other stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic and service-oriented with the following qualifications:

  • Professional accounting or finance designation with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, including industry experience
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and the Canadian Securities Administrators rules and regulations, with a proven ability of interpreting the requirements, and providing compliant and practical application solutions
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen focus on attention to details
  • Demonstrated ability in managing multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Determined self-starter, motivated to take initiative and work with a high degree of autonomy
