Enbridge is actively seeking a Senior Advisor to join our measurement team and lead the gas quality analysis programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining standards, solving challenges, leading the measurement industry, and providing technical support and guidance to improve the existing and future measurement facilities for the Gas Transmission & Midstream Business Unit.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop, maintain, revise, and consolidate Company standards, specifications, and procedures related to gas quality analysis according to Company and industry best practices and the latest governmental regulations.

  • Provide guidance and technical support on a broad range of gas quality analysis and lab related functions including gas chromatographs, continuous gas analyzers, extended spot analysis, round robin quality assurance, gas quality calculations, odorization, and glycol analysis.

  • Subject Matter Expert on regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance (ie: API, AGA, GPA, Measurement Canada, PHMSA, BSEE, BLM, TX RRC, etc.)

  • Lead and support task groups related to incidents, technical issues, and continuous improvement.

  • Actively participate in and lead industry committees and associations on behalf of the Company.

  • Provide technical support for Field Operations, Asset Management, Asset Integrity, Reliability, Process Safety, Projects, Legal, Business Development, Environmental, Safety, Management, and other groups to resolve challenges and to interpret and follow Company standards.

  • Evaluate, test, and approve new gas quality equipment.

  • Support department projects and initiatives, as required

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree with 6+ years of experience OR 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Familiar with US and Canadian natural gas regulations

  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to meet timelines

  • Ability to influence without authority

  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and perform detailed data analysis

  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships to achieve goals

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications

Preferred:

  • Significant experience with evaluating and supporting gas quality analysis programs and equipment

  • Gas quality lab and/or natural gas transmission operations experience

  • Experience with writing and implementing specifications, standards, and procedures

Working Conditions:

  • Approximately 80% Office Environment-vs-20 % in a field office or facilities outside operations in all types of weather.

  • Available 24 hours per day to respond to emergency situations and must be able to remain calm and focused during emergency situations.

  • May be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

  • Work near toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. 

  • The noise level in some work environments may be above 90 dBA.

  • Works to meet concrete regulatory deadlines  

  • Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
