What does it mean to be a Senior Accounting Coordinator at GLS?
At GLS, the Senior Accounting Coordinator will provide accounting and administrative support to the Accounting team and overall organization. This role is responsible for day-to-day transactional accounting activity.
How will you drive value within the organization as a Senior Accounting Coordinator?
- Analyze historical customer account information; recommending payment modifications and re-postings as needed
- Research payments using online portals and other resources, reviewing unusual items, preparing forms as needed
- Receive and input regular vendor invoices and ad-hoc payment requests
- Create and maintain regular vendor files, including contact/payment information and general ledger coding
- Sort, scan, distribute inbound mail for the accounting department, including electronic deposit of checks
- Complete and maintain monthly bank account reconciliations
- Track and reconcile daily account processing
- Maintain electronic records and files
- Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
- Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management
- Participate in special projects as needed
- Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management
What should you already know to be a successful Senior Accounting Coordinator?
- Minimum of High School Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a related field required
- Ability to work with a team to achieve company and departmental goals
- Strong numerical reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Team player that can adapt in a fast paced and changing environment
- Time-management skills required to efficiently complete assignments
- Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as request; high proficiency in Excel preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships across the business
- Commitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competencies
Employment Requirements:
- Remain in a stationary position up to 90% of the workday
- Constantly operate a computer and other standard office equipment
- Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
- Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
- This job operates in a professional office environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet
