Senior Accounting Associate
Area of Assignment: Bandung, Indonesia
This senior paraprofessional provides financial and accounting review support to the 800+ church partners that Compassion Indonesia supports. The support involves reviewing monthly financial reports of church partners, providing feedback and improvement suggestions to church partners, and training/educating them about financial controls/governances. The key success indicator is that Compassion Indonesia’s funds sent to the church partners, are expended/spent per approved plans.
Responsibilities
- Acts as an advocate to raise awareness of the needs of children. Understands mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
- Provides financial and accounting, internal controls review and support to church partners of Compassion Indonesia, with the goal to ensure that Compassion Indonesia’s funds sent to church partners, are expended per plan
- Provides coaching and technical financial and reporting advice to church partners and also Compassion internal staff
Culture

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other finance-related courses
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting
- Good problem solving, communication, presentation (especially to non-finance persons) and interpersonal skills
Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment
Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day
Travel Requirements: The role may require travel of up to 1 week, every quarter within Indonesia.
