This Senior Accounting Analyst position is in the system modernization area of the SPARK transformation team.
Responsibilities:
- Tasked with developing the accounting functions of the retail and lease servicing and the control processes of the new system.
- Apply accounting knowledge to financial systems to audit for accuracy.
- Support the financial teams on the system modernization effort.
- Provide support and backup to team to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Generate and review user stories to document control and accounting procedures
- Research issues and work with appropriate departments to resolve system issues as well as internal process issues impacting the system.
Support Implementation of System enhancements and enhancements to processes and procedures
- Actively participate in systems projects that have an impact to accounting.
- Build relationships to effectively partner with various departments in the development and implementation of system projects.
- Participate in developing test plans for various system enhancements and upgrades, ensuring that the accounting group’s interests and concerns are properly addressed.
- Perform and supervise related User Acceptance Testing at an appropriate level of detail, ensuring that system changes are functioning properly in the test environment before being formally implemented in the live system.
- Continually review processes and procedures to find efficiencies that can be implemented by utilizing systems in the most efficient manner.
Job Requirements
- Comprehension of accounting and analytics.
- Proven effective verbal & written communication/follow-up skills.
- Must be able to understand transactional and operational accounting.
- Robust data analytics skills.
- Solid organization & time management Skills.
- Attention to detail and self-starter.
- Well-developed process analysis, risk and control identification, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Education
- BA/BS with at least a minor in Accounting is required
- CPA or CPA Candidate
- MBA or MACC a plus
Software Expertise
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
