Senior Accountant, Applications

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant role is an integral position within the finance team. This role is critical to help drive financial reporting accuracy and internal control effectiveness. The Senior Accountant produces consistent, accurate, complete reporting data and provides fact-based information for various business purposes. The Senior Accountant is comfortable communicating with various partners throughout the organization to help drive success in organizational goals and process improvement. This role requires a high degree of focus on priorities, ability to pivot, and communication.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply Accounting standards and guidance, including ASC 606
- Critical contributor in the close process (entries, reconciliations, controls, etc.)
- Provide relevant, accurate, and timely financial information
- Analyze financial and operational results
- Closely partner with the sales and operations team to execute accounting activities
- Leverage Business Intelligence tools to reduce manual work and automate financial reporting
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as defined by the operations leadership team for business needs
- Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies
- Assist in the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley program, including documentation, testing, assessing process risk, and recommending for improvement.
- Develop and grow strong cross-functional relationships to ensure the achievement of department and business objectives through collaboration and communication
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Experience with public accounting firm; Big 4 preferred
- Four (4) or more years of related work experience, including:
- Experience with a manufacturing company
- SEC publicly traded company experience
- Proficient understanding of internal control concepts
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities complex projects
- Ability to role model high standards of professionalism
- Excellent follow-through
- Must be driven and self-motivated
- Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Pay Rate:
$69,900.00 - $104,900.00
