LOCATION: Apply Digital is hybrid/remote friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in either the Greater Toronto Area or the Greater Vancouver Area of Canada, working in hours that align to ET (Eastern Timezone) or PT (Pacific Timezone).

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to our company's financial integrity and growth. The Senior Accountant will play a role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing financial processes in a consultancy environment, demonstrating both technical proficiency and strategic insight.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• General Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies.
• Audit Coordination: Lead external audit processes, ensuring timely provision of required documentation and addressing audit findings effectively.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns and related documentation.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and systems, implementing best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Experience within a professional services or consultancy firm is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting software systems; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
