Summary of Role
The Financial Reporting Sr. Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing financial statements and reporting documents and coordinating international entities' audits. This role involves collaboration with various teams to compile, analyze, and report financial data.
Hours of Working
The working hours for this role would be Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm with the requirement to work 5pm - 2am at peak times close to month end close days.
Key Responsibilities
Financial reporting:
Assist in quarterly and annual financial reporting by compiling and preparing income statements, balance sheets including footnotes, and other financial reports.
Prepare financial statements tie out binder.
Assist in coordinating annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors and corporate accounting team
Prepare and submit surveys to industry organizations and publications.
Research SEC filings for peer companies’ disclosure practices
Manage various ad-hoc projects and deliverables and communicate promptly the status of each project to the reporting management
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in financial reporting processes
International Accounting:
Manage international accounts audit by overseeing audit requirements and interacting with external auditors as required
Help team with closing international accounting books on quarterly basis.
Prepare schedules and support documentation related to audit
Support local service providers to meet international regulatory compliance needs
Take lead and partner with local services providers as needed to review and coordinate international statutory filings.
Support efforts to improve processes and reporting, including standardization process
Requirements:
Understanding the accounting principles
Exceptional capability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information to team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work on cross functional activities and form solid business relationships
Proficiency in accounting ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Must be available to work during US team hours a few days per month
Preferred qualification
Experience working with financial reporting software (DFIN or Workiva).
Experience working with international accounting teams.
Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS GAAP Chartered Accountant certification
Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
Knowledge of India Accounting GAAP.
3-4 years of post-qualification experience in multi-national companies.
