SUMMARY

Responsible for the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial report, forecasting and budgeting for Westlake Global Compounds and Dimex divisions.  This role has contact with all levels of management, as well as independent auditors.

ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage all Financial Reporting & Analysis, Forecasting, and Budgeting activities for the Global Compounds & Dimex Divisions.
  • Support the month end closing consolidation process for international entities in Europe and Asia. This includes execution of consolidation process in BPC, along with performing validations such as intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translations, and CTA reasonableness reviews.
  • Prepare monthly & quarterly internal management reporting packages with detailed variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly internal sales reporting analysis and quarterly disaggregated revenue reporting
  • Update and submit NA Compounds Monthly Forecasts for Manager’s review & approval.
  • Manage the annual budgeting cycle for the Global Compounds and Dimex in collaboration with Corporate FP&A group. 
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting deliverables required by both external and internal auditors. 
  • Prepare and submit supporting SEC data and other regulatory reporting and filing data as necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate and adequate controls in the reporting and accounting areas.  Enforce SOX process control.
  • Work with external auditors and provide data and analyses as needed. 
  • Responsible for keeping current with technical accounting pronouncements and trends, analyzing their impact on the Company, and application of new accounting pronouncements in accordance with Westlake policy.
  • Monitor and identify major performance areas for enhancement / process improvement. 
  • Work closely with peers within other Housing & Infrastructure Products segment to facilitate best practices, knowledge sharing and process improvements.

  • Fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.
  • Strive to attain established Goals & Objectives, provide two-way feedback on achievement of Goals & Objectives, and seek guidance/coaching when necessary.
  • Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in both public accounting and the private sector is required, preferably with a manufacturing background.  
  • MBA preferred. 
  • Previous experience with financial planning & analysis, budgeting and general accounting is required. 
  • Work experience in an international company preferred.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting, consolidation, and reporting systems, preferably SAP and BPC/HFM, are critical to the position. 
  • Must be proficient with spreadsheet programs, including Excel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
