About the Role:

The Senior Accountant prepares journal entries, reconciles and maintains sub-ledgers to general ledgers, including investigation and resolution of discrepancies, analysis of trends and variances to expected outcomes; and prepares monthly activity reports for the assigned accounts and subsidiaries of Remitly. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

You Will:

  • Support the month end close process, ensuring completeness and accuracy of GL accounts and financial statement line items.
  • Be an expert on the flow of data and events from our upstream systems to our financial systems.
  • Investigate uncategorized exceptions and propose resolution to unmatched transactions.
  • Financial analysis and explanation of trends and variances to expected outcomes.
  • Prepare monthly activity reports as assigned.
  • Conduct technical research and testing requirements to support new projects.
  • Ensure internal controls and procedures are documented and followed with audit trails for compliance.
  • Support ad hoc financial information request/audit request and analyses and other special projects as assigned.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and 3+ years of experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a plus
  • Experience analyzing and working with large datasets
  • High English fluency
