We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of Element’s financial statements.  This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about contributing to the success of a future world class finance organization. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in a wide range of accounting topics who can grow and assume new responsibilities as the company evolves.  Experience working in a public accounting firm or a publicly traded company is highly desired.  This role will report to the Associate Director of Accounting and will be a San Diego based role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the establishment and enhancement of a strong internal control environment.
  • Own the accounting process over key areas such as cash, fixed assets, leasing, and intercompany.
  • Effectively interact with Human Resources and third-party providers to ensure the proper accounting for payroll and employee benefits.
  • Support and/or perform the processing of certain tax filings.
  • Identify, provide input to and/or support improvements to systems and processes to drive efficiency and enhance effectiveness.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of broad, progressive accounting experience.
  • A CPA designation is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with the preparation of financial statements in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment preferred.
  • NetSuite proficiency preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A passion for teamwork and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a work station for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Base Compensation Pay Range:

  • $104,600 - $137,400


In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
