About the Opportunity
The ideal Senior Accountant will possess keen attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset. Beyond handling reporting, analysis, and general accounting, you will collaborate with management to drive strategic and operational goals. At SkipTheDishes, our finance team not only manages daily finances but also embraces a growth mindset to enhance all areas of the business. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, you will support critical financial processes and month-end tasks for one of North America's largest restaurant marketplace companies. Your work will directly impact decision-making and operational strategy, requiring strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to learning and new challenges.
What's On Your Plate

  • Perform monthly closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.
  • Prepare variance analyses for select accounts for monthly and quarterly reviews, year-end audit, and annual report.
  • Constantly look for improvements in the current processes including controls and automation.
  • Assist external and internal audit by preparing schedules, explaining supporting material procedures and any other data as needed.
  • Maintain detailed narratives of all procedures and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal quality controls
  • Assist with the development and launch of new company initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely execution and seamless integration with the accounting system.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and/or financial analysis as part of small and large initiatives across the organization.


Recipe for Success

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance
  • At least 3+ years of related work experience at a top tier national public accounting firm or in a similar role in industry
  • Some progression through the CPA program (or a desire to enter the program) or related certification.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Is driven by their attention to detail and passion for process and reporting accuracy.
  • Propensity to take ownership of areas of responsibility
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Intermediate experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
