Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, motivated, and hands-on. They will have exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of transactional, reconciliation, payroll and other accounting and tax activities. Functions include accounts payable review, account reconciliations, payroll, tax compliance, audit support as well as maintaining accounting policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of efficiency while following appropriate internal controls and compliance with US GAAP. This role is an integral part of the finance team and will report to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and maintain vendors according to 1099 guidelines.
• Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate PO matching, contract compliance, G/L coding, departmental approvals, and monthly reconciliations.
• Assist with preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations such as prepaid expenses, general accruals and, fixed asset depreciation.
• Backup for accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivables activities..
• Review employee reimbursable expenses and manage the function of proper coding, matching receipts for accuracy and policy compliance, reviewing approvals, and drafting payables in the accounting software.
• Assist with payroll processing, journal entries including commissions and bonus accruals.
• Track state tax related filings and payroll tax related filings.
• Own contract costs procedure as per ASC 606. Create amortization templates, monthly journal entries drafting and submission, prepare monthly reconciliations.
• Provide support to month-end and year-end close activities as assigned.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Manage positive business relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside parties.
• Support with various audits (financial statements, bank, external) and tax compliance (1099s) as needed.
• Seek opportunities to standardize and automate processes to gain efficiencies.
Minimum 4+ year of experience in a Senior accountant role, preferably high growth SaaS environments and/or public accounting environments. Applicants with experience in a comparable industry will be considered for this position.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
Accounts Payable, Employee Expense Reports, Tax Compliance (Sales & Corporation Tax), Payroll, Prepaid Expenses, Fixed Assets, and Balance Sheet reconciliation experience.
· A thorough understanding of contract costs and ASC 606 is highly preferred.
· Must have excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).
Experience with Certinia (Financial Force), or similar accounting systems; expense reporting software (Nexonia), iSolved, Datarails, Bill.com and Salesforce a plus.
Must have solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills required, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s. The successful candidate will have a "roll-up-the-sleeves" attitude, be able to multi- task and be ready to thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.
Proven ability to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects, along with “wearing multiple hats”.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong sense of business ethics, integrity and discretion.
Self-motivated individual with the ability to solve problems and work independently with a minimum level of supervision, while being a good team player.
Effective and decisive under pressure and operating with a sense of urgency.
