As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Tech Controls, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the Software & Security engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.
Job responsibilities
- Applying technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Designing, Developing, & Operating solutions for Infrastructure and Security products
- Developing CI/CD systems, private cloud infrastructure and secure integration with public cloud infrastructure
- Automating, streamlining and building solutions that support app security and auditability across on-prem, private cloud and public cloud products
- Using observability tools to improve detection of degraded service availability and performance
- Analyzing availability and performance data to identify trends and detect problems
- Gaining familiarity and resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Executing conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Driving the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
- Partnering with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential bottlenecks, capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in developing and supporting automation solutions for security products.
- Demonstrates self-discipline, self-management, motivation, and a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Proficient in one or more scripting or programming languages, such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Java.
- Extensive experience with observability tools like Dynatrace, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, or DataDog.
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, Jules, or Spinnaker.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Microsoft Azure, and container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Knowledgeable in technologies including Linux, Windows, and databases like Oracle and Cockroach.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with PKWare, Thales, Vormetric, Gemalto KeySecure, or Luna devices is a plus.
