Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity to join our busy PMO team has become available! We are recruiting an experienced Scrum Master, based in Phoenix, Arizona. The candidate will report to the Head of Programs, The role is the Agile Subject Matter Expert within the Scrum team. It is the Scrum Master’s responsibility to raise awareness of the Agile Values and Principles and ensure that the Scrum Team work in ways consistent with the Scrum Framework. The Scrum Master will train, advise, facilitate, mentor and coach the Scrum team to reach their full potential with a laser focus on customer value. 

The Scrum Master fosters a growth mind-set that supports the Scrum Team to continually improve and become better.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create an environment that allows teams to grow and improve
  • Deepen team understanding of agility
  • Lower the impact of distractions and team impediments
  • Assist expanding the benefits of agility beyond the Scrum teams
  • Resolution of destructive conflict within Scrum teams
  • Find ways of improving the ‘as-is’
  • Maintain a safe environment where collaboration can thrive

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Essential

  • Deep understanding of the Scrum framework.
  • Deep understanding of Agile
  • Certified Scrum Master / PSM 1
  • Strong team facilitator
  • Experience in coaching Scrum and Kanban teams
  • Good appreciation of the SDLC
  • Skilled in building relationships and navigating through organizations
  • Assertive, with the confidence to challenge
  • High energy and passionate about the job, and ability to influence those around them

Desirable

  • Advanced-CSM / PSM II or higher
  • Training / coaching experience


Work Experience:

  • Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
