Within ASML, the IT division supports infrastructure, automation, and optimization of critical business processes. The IT Enterprise Solution Delivery for Operations department specifically focuses on driving innovation and delivering changes in IT systems supporting areas such as sales, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer service.
As Scrum Master, you will play a key role within the Field Execution Agile Release Train (ART), coaching Agile teams and supporting alignment, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement across the train.
Role and responsibilities
As Scrum Master, you are a servant leader with strong coaching skills and broad Scaled Agile experience. You train your team(s) on Scrum practices, facilitate Scrum events, and continuously stimulate your team(s) to grow into highly autonomous yet highly aligned Agile teams. You will collaborate closely with the Release Train Engineer (RTE), Product Owners, and other Scrum Masters to support Agile maturity and delivery effectiveness.
The Scrum Master works closely together with:
- The RTE for the Field Execution ART
- The Product Owner(s) for the team(s) you serve and coach
- The developers/consultants in your Agile teams
- Other Scrum Masters in the ART
- The CPO and System Architect for the ART
- The Agile Competence Center in ASML and many other stakeholders outside the ART
A grasp of what you can expect in this position:
- Facilitate Scrum rituals such as Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Retrospectives, Reviews, and Refinement.
- Guide the team on self-organization and Agile best practices.
- Create transparency and alignment around team velocity, quality of deliverables, and engagement.
- Signal and remove impediments to enable delivery of committed work items.
- Ensure teams follow the technical way of working and uphold quality standards.
- Shield teams from distractions and external interruptions.
- Analyze team rituals, identify bottlenecks, and advise on improvements.
- Help surrounding stakeholders understand how to best support the team.
- Coach the team in managing dependencies and identifying risks.
- Align frequently with the RTE to ensure delivery coordination across the ART.
- Support readiness of work items (Definition of Ready) and act as Integration Lead when required.
Education and experience
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (in IT, Engineering, or a related field).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile/SAFe IT environment.
- Experience working within large, complex corporate IT organizations.
- Agile and SAFe certified (Scrum.org and/or SAFe® certifications).
- Possession of PSM I or CSM certification is required.
- PSM II or A-CSM certification is preferred.
- Valid work permit for the Netherlands.

This position sits within the Field Execution ART, part of the IT Enterprise Solution Delivery for Operations, where teams focus on delivering business-critical solutions across manufacturing, supply chain, customer service and sales. The role involves collaboration with diverse global teams and stakeholders to ensure agile alignment and delivery efficiency.
