SAP Functional Lead - Finance & Controlling

Your mission

Are you an experienced SAP controlling, planning & consolidation expert looking to make a significant impact? As the SAP Functional Lead – Finance & Controlling at BDR Thermea Group, you will play a crucial role in streamlining processes through a global S/4 HANA roll-out programme. Working with agile methodology, you will drive innovation forward and deliver substantial performance improvements across the Group. Join us in making the energy transition a reality!

What you'll do

• Design and build future-proof SAP S/4 HANA standard processes, closely collaborating with a Business Process Expert in Finance.  

• Design and deliver cross-workstream processes, working closely with SAP Functional Workstream Leads between Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Source-to-Pay, Quality, Quote-to-Cash, After-Sales, and PLM.

• Contribute to localisation solution design for our global SAP S/4 HANA roll-out programme.   

• Drive innovation forward by considering and implementing new SAP capabilities, staying close to the SAP industry voices for example by participating in events and networks such as SAP Sapphire and the Dutch VNSG. 

What you can expect

In this role, you will collaborate with various business stakeholders, IT partners, and the BDR Thermea Group IT to design and implement optimised S/4 HANA Finance processes. 

You will be joining BDR Thermea Group at a thrilling time: while we already have a rather advanced configuration landscape in SAP, we now have an opportunity for a seasoned SAP FI/FICO specialist to bring our Finance operations to the next level.  

You will bring your expertise and contribute to SAP solution architecture, our continuous improvement roadmap and various (greenfield) projects. For example, we have started a Business Transformation Programme, with short- and mid-term efficiency improvement targets. Furthermore, we have begun a global SAP S/4 HANA roll-out programme, implementing and retrofitting new standard ways of working across the Group. 

You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment in which communication skills are one of the keys to your success. Our in-house R&D team is based out of Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, and Mertzwiller, France, with external consultants supporting us across time zones.  

This is a hybrid role, based out of Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. To ensure close collaboration, you are invited to work on-site in Apeldoorn twice a week. We support your home office set-up, travel costs, and provide flexibility regarding hybrid work.

What you bring

• Technical Expertise: You bring a wealth of experience in SAP full life-cycle Waterfall/Agile implementations, with a focus on Finance and Controlling modules, ideally 7+ years. 

• Tools & Technologies: You have an in-depth understanding of SAP S/4 HANA incl. Fiori applications, and SAP S/4 HANA Finance and Controlling. 

• Stakeholder Management Skills: You have the ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and influence stakeholders in an international matrix organisation, in which the working language is English.   

• Industry Experience: Ideally, you have gained experience in a relevant domain, such as manufacturing.  

• Educational Background: Preferably, you have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance and Accounting, Business or the equivalent; or in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems matched with experience in the financial domain. 

For bonus points:

• If you have gained experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Group Reporting, SAP BPC, or Kyriba: you can expect to also work on these.

• If you speak fluent Dutch: it’s a bonus, but not a must!
