What you’ll be doing
The SAP Engineer is responsible for overseeing a team to deliver protection, LV, 11 & 33kV New Connections, Investment & faults work with strict adherence to the appropriate safety, regulatory and license obligations for the electricity distribution network.
General Responsibilities

Deliver district outputs in line with financial, regulatory and business plan objectives whilst optimising various allowances.

Support delivery of planned & reactive outputs and ensure network resilience is maintained.

Drive robust project plans from the team to facilitate deliverables in line with district and licence plans that are devised to minimise outages to customers.

Ensure efficient and effective delivery of operational performance targets whilst demonstrating changes to drive improvements where appropriate.

Drive continual performance improvement through analysis of resource, process & outputs to understand programme position & risks.

Integrate asset stewardship values through sound engineering principles, coordinated planning and delivery activities to improve integrity, safety and longevity of the electrical network.

Promotes an exemplary safety culture and ensures that all safety legislation is implemented and delivered through all activities.

Ensure the accurate and timely capture and recording of data within corporate systems and ensuring excellent housekeeping across the team for all corporate data actions.

Responsibility for the quality and financial assurance of projects delivered by the team.
What you’ll bring

Some knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.

Good appreciation of network operation, design and use.

General contract, commercial and regulatory awareness.

Effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
-
Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgement to determine optimal & prioritised solutions.
-
Awareness and understanding of key business drivers and business strategy, both for now and in the near future.

Ability to devise solutions to problems / challenges.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate as a minimum:
-
Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience (including HNC or equivalent)

Authorised SAP at 11 & 33kV
-
Proven experience in the delivery & project management of engineering projects, ideally including both planned & reactive works.

Experience & understanding of network design & operation, safety rules and operational policies & procedures.

Computer literacy.
-
Current UK driving licence (Travel required)
