SAP Datasphere Engineer

The Senior SAP Data Engineer will design and build robust data solutions, combining strong data

engineering capabilities with foundational solution architecture and data architecture skills.

This role ensures scalable, integrated, and optimized SAP data systems that support analytics

and organizational strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Engineering:
• Develop and optimize CDS Views (analytical, transactional, and consumption) to enable real-time data extraction and transformation in SAP S/4HANA.
• Utilize SAP Data Sphere tools (Data Builder, Business Builder) to design logical data models, virtualized layers, and pipelines.
• Enable data flows with Data Integration Monitor for managing pipelines, data replication, and lineage tracking.
• Work with Business Builder to define business entities, hierarchies, and key metrics for unified analytics.
• Enable data replication, integration, and harmonization across SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Optimize data flows and query performance, ensuring scalability for large datasets.
• Collaborate on designing end-to-end data solutions within SAP S/4HANA, SAP Data Sphere, and corporate data platforms in a cloud
• Define data integration architectures, aligning SAP systems with external tools, APIs, and enterprise data lakes.
• Collaborate on alignment between SAP data solutions and overall IT architecture strategy.
• Data Architecture:
• Design logical and physical data models, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability.
• Define governance policies around data lineage, metadata, and master data management in SAP Data Sphere.
• Ensure that data solutions adhere to data security, compliance, and jurisdictional regulations.
• Collaboration and Enablement:
• Work closely with SAC Consultants and business teams to ensure data readiness for analytics solutions (dashboards, KPIs, and forecasting models).
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for junior engineers and cross- functional teams
• Document architecture, data flows, and integration points to enable transparency and maintenance.
• Performance and Resource Management:
• Optimize data resource usage for SAP systems to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
• Monitor deployments and proactively address bottlenecks or failures within SAP data solutions.

Key Requirements:

• 4+ years of strong experience in SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics and SAP Data Sphere.
• Strong expertise in CDS View development, SAP data integration frameworks (e.g., OData), and performance optimization.
• Experience with data architecture principles, including data modeling, governance, and quality management.
• Strong skills in SQL, experience with SQL-based databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) will be a plus
• ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica or PySpark etc.), data treatment with Python will be a plus
• Exposure to solution architecture: cloud integrations (AWS/Azure), hybrid deployment strategies, and end-to-end SAP solution design.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, aligning technical solutions with business objectives.
• Strong documentation and analytical skills to ensure system clarity and scalability, including:
• Data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar)
• Documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, or MS Word)
• Project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
