Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sewer / Sample Maker. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with our design and product development teams to produce high-quality samples of our home goods products. You will utilize your expert sewing skills and experience with cutting and sewing equipment to create samples that meet our standards of consistency and precision.
What You’ll Do:
- Create patterns and samples of products to verify fit, design placement, dimensions, and acceptable production tolerances
- Operate Zund cutting machine to create, test, and modify cut files that will be used to streamline mass production across our global facilities
- Identify and support purchasing and organization of material and trim needs for projects
- Assist with tech pack creation and modifications for new and existing products
- Perform and document wash testing of products in our wet testing laboratory
- Assist with ad hoc sewing and pattern making related projects, including evaluating new materials
- Conduct production line training, working with operations team to launch and efficiently scale new sewing processes
Required:
- Work onsite at our Torrance research and development facility 5 days a week
- 3+ years of experience in sewing, sample creation, and pattern making
- Strong communication skills including ability to communicate updates to product development team and cross functional partners
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment and ensure project delivery requirements are met
- Excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently with little supervision
Compensation:
- $20 - $25 per hour
