Business Area (all roles)
EQ has embarked on a Client to Cash (C2C) transformation covering all capabilities for an end-to-end journey from marketing, new business development, opportunity and contract lifecycle management, order to cash, and relationship management through to renewals management. As a result of acquisitions and growth, we currently have multiple ways of working, processes and systems which we are consolidating into a single global approach and platform based on Salesforce CRM and Conga Quote to Cash.
A programme team is driving through this transformation, and the role of Senior Salesforce/Copado DevOps Engineer (DevOps Lead) will play a key part in this.
Role Summary
Reports into the C2C Centre of Excellence and works with other colleagues across the wider programme team. As our DevOps Lead you will have strong expertise in both Salesforce and Copado. You will be responsible for managing and streamlining the deployment processes, ensuring the stability and reliability of Salesforce applications, and enhancing development efficiency through automation and optimization.
You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing and maintaining our continuous integration and delivery pipeline using Azure DevOps boards, Git repositories and Copado CI/CD tools. You will work closely with internal and external developers, testers, Product and Platform Managers and our Engineering team to ensure the successful deployment of applications onto our Salesforce/Conga environments, and you will be expected to have excellent technical knowledge and experience in the areas of automated provisioning, configuration and deployment using Copado in a Salesforce environment.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Managing and automating the build, deployment, and release processes using Copado and ADO, to ensure all Salesforce updates made seamlessly move from development through staging to production
- Collaborating with development teams to understand the application architecture and configuration requirements
- Optimizing and maintaining Salesforce environments, including multiple sandbox, development, integration, and production environments
- Conducting regular code and configuration deployments, ensuring they are error-free and follow all relevant deployment processes
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to deployments, configuration, and integration within the Salesforce platform
- Implementing and maintaining DevOps best practices to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Providing technical guidance and support to other team members on Salesforce and DevOps-related topics
- Staying up-to-date with Salesforce and Copado platform updates, new features, and industry best practices.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Salesforce development and DevOps roles
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience of Copado CI/CD
- Knowledge of Copado Robotics Testing is desirable
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Git repos
- Proficient in Visual Studio and related tools for Salesforce development
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce development methodologies, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce APIs
- Solid understanding of Git version control and CI/CD concepts
- Familiarity with Salesforce DX and packaging concepts
- Deep understanding of DevOps practices and working in an agile environment
- Experience working with overlapping product release cycles
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Up to date Copado Fundamentals I and II certification is mandatory, further certifications would be considered positively
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Platform Developer, Salesforce Certified Administrator, or Salesforce Certified DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is desirable
