This role is to lead, manage, and coach account managers to provide effective strategic and tactical sales direction and communications strategies to defend existing business, improve profitability of existing business, and to profitably develop new business. Implements strategy, business, and marketing plans for assigned account managers and sales region including market research, competitive intelligence, product positioning, product line evolution, and product innovation. This role is focused on growth of an assigned sales team and region that includes new account acquisition and share of wallet, typically higher focus on share of wallet.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Deliver strategic and sales goals including profitable year-over-year growth
  • Lead sales team to increase business with existing and new accounts through prospecting and networking
  • Manage sales team with focus on opening new accounts and expanding sales on existing accounts
  • Possess a detailed knowledge of Amcor, our products, the industry, and competitive market, enabling the business to solidify itself as an industry leader and fulfill Amcor’s Winning Aspiration to be the leading global packaging company
  • Support and guide sales team to manage the complexities of account(s) in support of customer needs
  • Build relationships with customers based upon trust and respect
  • Orchestrate and lead key business negotiations, supporting Amcor’s interests demonstrating an ability to influence decision and actions
  • Report and communicate current performance achievements in terms of sales and marketing contribution to the business unit for monthly management reporting
  • Drive forecast accuracy for improved business results
  • Manages accounts receivable as acceptable levels with assistance from the credit department
  • Work with Strategic Marketing to identify, analyze, and recommend actions to meet strategic unmet customer needs
  • Coach sales team to build highly collaborative relationships between Amcor and your account(s) to include: senior leadership, procurement, engineering, quality, operations, sales management, support teams, key Amcor global contacts etc. with a view of enhancing sales initiatives and profitably while meeting customer needs
  • Responsible for sales pipeline growth at account manager level with focus on Account Planning, Pipeline management, profitability improvements, and churn management in CRM tool
  • Drive importance with account managers for cross functional collaboration with R&D, Marketing, and Field Service in support of validation trials and customer trials
  • Communicates competitive developments in his/her region regarding marketing strategies, pricing structures, or product performance and communicates intelligence to management through the Monthly Report system
  • Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities, promoting an environment where each employee makes safety their first priority

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

    • Education – Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience – relevant experience in technical, sales and general management preferably within the packaging industry
    • 7+ years of experience
    • Proven track record of successful sales growth and profitability
    • Experience leading a team is required
    • Experience with negotiations; strong influencing and persuasion skills

    CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $94,500 to $118,100; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $94,500 to $141,700 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.Benefits
