We’re looking for a Sales Manager to lead our West Coast sales team, keep things running smoothly, and make sure we hit our goals. This role is about managing people, tracking performance, maintaining our sales process, training and coaching, and solving complex problems.
What You’ll Do
Sales Performance
Your main job is to keep the sales team on track and make sure our customers have a consistent, high-quality experience. You’ll check in with each sales rep weekly, run team huddles, and keep an eye on the sales pipeline to make sure deals are moving forward. You’ll also handle any culture or performance issues as they come up, run quarterly performance reviews, and make sure the sales inbox stays cleaned out and organized.
Managing & Training the Team
You’ll help with hiring when needed and make sure new reps get up to speed. Beyond that, you’ll keep coaching the team, holding training sessions, and making sure they have the knowledge and tools to succeed. You’ll approve hours and PTO requests, coordinate technical training, and stay plugged into any technical updates that might affect sales.
Handling the Business Side
You’ll be the first point of contact when customer complaints come in, working with Warranty Coordinators and Customer Service to resolve issues. You’ll also track sales trends and pass key insights to Marketing and Business Development. When the sales team has requests for inventory, purchasing, or marketing, you’ll relay those to the right people. Staying on top of pricing and competitive trends is also part of the job, along with working with IT and Customer Service to improve systems and processes. You’ll check in weekly with the Sales Director to report on team performance, ongoing projects, and anything that needs attention.
What You Need
We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience managing a sales team or leading in a sales environment. You should know how to track performance, coach people, and handle customer issues when they come up. A solid understanding of sales processes, CRMs, and business operations is a big plus. You’ll also need to work well with marketing, IT, customer service, and inventory teams to keep things running efficiently.

Maddox serves the commercial, industrial, utility, and renewables segments of the transformer market. We work with small operators, all the way up to the largest projects in the country. Our customers value speed, transparency, and an easy buying experience.
We sell, rent, repair and buy transformers.
With thousands of units in-stock and expedited production slots available, Maddox is dedicated to fast lead times and helping you get your project powered on as fast as possible. We believe in not only providing a dependable product with outstanding customer service, but in conducting ourselves with character and integrity in all that we do. We believe that strong relationships and a good reputation are our most important assets.
Our experience has taught us that the best way to serve our customers is to deliberately concentrate our skills and expertise on a single line of products. From the very start, MIT was built with an exclusive focus on transformers and transformer-related equipment. We do one thing, and we do it very well.
We serve customers who value quick lead-times, extensive technical expertise, excellent customer service, and ease of doing business. Our customers are primarily industrial and commercial clients, contractors, and equipment dealers/distributors.
