About the role
To promote and sell to assigned market in defined geographic region or vertical segment. Generate hotel/resort awareness through direct phone sales; direct sales calls, tradeshows and networking groups.  Work closely with sales and marketing team to solicit, sell and confirm group and individual travel business required to meet budgeted sales goals. Candidate should possess the ability to solicit group and individual travel and create business development plans independently. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment and discretion in decision making.

What you will do

  • Identify and target customers from assigned market that will generate business on behalf of hotel but not conflict with WSO efforts.

  • Negotiate, draft, generate and confirm/sign contracts that ensure hotel budget and revenue targets are achieved.

  • Adjust group pricing and recommend group concessions as needed to secure business in support of hotel budget targets.

  • Use company wide programs, sales developments, prospecting projects, WSO customer events, arrival reports, Hotelligence, Opera business intelligence, Book of Lists, Readerboard reports, Hoover’s Lists, City Business Journal, etc., to solicit and secure business for assigned segment.  

  • Prepare and present analysis and reporting on business trends, market conditions and customer base as needed to DOS/DOM for assigned markets and business.

  • Follow up on all business inquiries and leads and qualify business to generate room nights and associated food and beverage revenue to impact RevPar performance. 

  • Create and execute customized account plans for assigned market territory to ensure maximum group revenue and budgeted group targets are achieved. 

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and direct sales goals by implementing a territory business development strategy including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment as outlined.  

  • Uncover potential P2P leads on behalf of sister properties and the company.

  • Solicit, confirm and service travel agent, wholesale, negotiate and transient accounts including negotiating rates and confirming contracts that ensure targeted TI budget achievement if assigned to TI market.

  • In alignment with Hotel’s strategic business plan, identify and create target accounts or agencies that will generate business on behalf of hotel but not conflict with WSO efforts.

  • With a high degree of independence, use companywide programs, sales developments, prospecting projects, WSO customer events and reporting for business development.

  • Impact corporate sales production to ensure maximum account penetration.

  • Contribute segment strategy recommendations to the Hotel’s annual business and marketing plan to maximize revenue and optimize the mix of business based on market conditions and forecasts.

What you bring

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the required language

  • Strong personal and professional references

  • College Degree – 4 years, or equivalent experience

  • Luxury hotel Sales required (minimum of 3 years) 
    Proven sales track record a plus.

  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge, including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Delph.

Full Time
