JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for profitable sales growth through designated channels, management of regional sales personnel and sales activities within the Benelux region. This is to be accomplished by directing the Contractor sales team within their region to manage and develop all the relevant channels of distribution and end users in order to enable the region to achieve its sales and initiative objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages field sales personnel in assigned region including: selection, management, development and termination of personnel, establishment and implementation of field sales measurement systems, salary planning, expense budgeting and management within guidelines.
- Develops and implements annual regional tactical sales plan to achieve or exceed Contractor growth objectives.
- Completes quarterly tactical planning with the sales personnel.
- Develops and manages regionally tailored field marketing programs including pricing and promotions within predetermined guidelines.
- Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with the decision-level management of national and regional paint companies and other key distributors.
- Oversees and approves the administration of all written distributor agreements and plans.
- Identifies and communicates to Marketing Department product, promotion and program opportunities which meet market needs.
- Follows and reports on monthly sales activities/results, opportunities, service/delivery issues and competitive activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience.
- 8+ years of successful sales experience (including key distributor and market share growth).
- Demonstrated capability to lead and manage teams.
- Ability to effectively develop and implement sales/marketing strategies and initiatives both short and long term.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, both internal and external.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- Effective leadership skills.
- Effective training and coaching skills.
- Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing, problem-solving and decision-making.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, French is a plus
Desirable Qualifications:
- Contractor equipment product, application, market, distribution channel and end-user knowledge.
- Contractor equipment competitor knowledge.
