About the Sales Development Representative Fellowship:
The Sales Development Representative Fellowship is a 16-week in-person fellowship that trains and up-skills candidates that are passionate about sales in technology. The Fellowship is an opportunity to create a pathway into a career as a Sales Development Representative in technology sales for exceptional individuals who might not have taken a traditional employment or academic path. Our goal is to train and hire exceptional talent while giving them access to hands-on technology sales development training in a collaborative in-person environment at our downtown Tulsa office. During the Fellowship, you will be considered for a full-time Sales Development Representative position at Tenstreet.
The 4 general candidate profiles who might be a fit:
- You want to transform your career: You have worked in fields outside of sales and technology and are looking to make a change. You could be working in retail, hospitality, education, a veteran, you name it. This could be your "second act".
- You do not have a degree and it’s been a barrier for you to sales opportunities.
- You have an associate or bachelor’s degree but don't want to work in that specific field.
- You want to return to the workforce: There is a gap of employment that is a barrier for you re-entering the workforce.
As a Sales Development Representative Fellow, you will be responsible for:
- Being the first point of contact for new business prospects, primarily thru cold calling via the telephone.
- Prospecting, researching, and identifying new leads by using a variety of approaches including online searches and industry specific searches.
- Moving prospects through the top of the sales funnel, by setting appointments with the sales team. (The Salesperson will conduct a demo online via Zoom/GoToMeeting)
- Checking in with prospects who missed their scheduled demo.
- Rescheduling demos with clients who couldn’t show at their previously scheduled time.
- Identifying key decision makers within these prospects.
- Updating Tenstreet’s sales tools (Sugar CRM, SalesLoft, etc) with the up-to-date information.
- Coordinating with the Sales team to develop and grow the sales pipeline.
- Honing your craft as a salesperson to be an exceptional SDR.
- Uncover ways Tenstreet might improve processes or products that add value to our clients.

If you want to be in sales, then the first step to doing so is selling yourself and presenting your experience thoughtfully. A few tips when applying that could help you be successful in securing a phone interview:
- Make sure that your resume tells your unique story.
- Most resumes don’t tell a story, they are lists of job duties and read like a job description. Don’t send us your job description. Tell us how you added value to the role. Here are some good examples of what we are looking for on a resume:
- Cold called 40 prospects per day
- Hit and exceeded quota for 11 out of 12 months last year
- Led the team in closed deals.
- A job description resume doesn’t tell a story. They list job duties. Here are some examples of what we are not looking for on a resume:
- Outbound Sales
- Prospecting
- Scheduled demos
- Create a format that is easy to follow along. Your most recent experience should be at the top. Do not write long paragraphs, use bullet points.
- The resume itself should be in .pdf or .doc format. If the resume was formatted by Indeed, AI, or another source that was not you, it may decrease your chances in moving forward in our process.
- We want to learn as much as we can about you, so don't try to minimize your experience to fit on one page if it doesn't allow enough room to include all your experience. The length of the resume depends on how much experience you have so if your resume is one page, great! 2 pages, also great!
