About the team
Our Sales Development team sits within the Sales function and is responsible for the creation of warm and cold leads for our Sales organisation. Integral to the success of Rapid7, this team plays a key role in building pipeline for our sales engine, directly contributing to revenue growth across our EMEA business. Our Sales Development team has a proven track record in developing SDR's into high performing Account Executives through our Global Sales Development programme, so there is no better place to begin, or continue, your lucrative career in High-Tech Sales.
About the role
We are looking to speak with energetic and self-motivated individuals who are looking to further progress their career within IT Sales. You will be proactively engaging senior security professionals within mid-market and enterprise organisations across the UK. The goal is to drive engagement, interest and qualify opportunities for the sales team to progress and win. The telephone will be your primary strategy, but you will need to leverage other tools and approaches in addition. As an SDR you will already be confident sourcing your own leads; through research, tools and referrals.
In this role you will:

  • Qualify and develop sales opportunities through both outbound and inbound approaches
  • Manage integrated email and cold calling campaigns to generate new sales prospects
  • Articulate our mission statement and qualify opportunities for Rapid7 to solve customers' business problem statements
  • Drive target contacts to attend marketing events and respond to our campaigns
  • Follow-up on Account Based Marketing campaigns, designed in partnership between sales and marketing
  • Conduct on-going research to identify new leads - decision makers, contact information, interest and level of urgency
  • Complete accurate tracking of communication with current and potential customers in our CRM
  • Strategise with Account Executives to target prospect accounts to build pipeline
  • Meet and exceed weekly KPI's and deliver a high quantity of qualified sales opportunities


The skills and experience you will bring include:

  • 2 years experience in a sales / sales development role with proven capabilities in account development and awareness of the buyer journey, sales process, and the stakeholders involved
  • Passionate about delighting customers with exceptional relationship building skills
  • Excited by technology, curious and eager to learn more about IT Security products and services
  • An effective listener, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of resilience, with the ability to bounce back after setbacks or rejection - it's a key part of the job which makes it such an exciting challenge!
  • Tenacious and driven, with a competitive personality, thrives in a fast paced and target driven environment
  • Creative, able to think independently and come up with new solutions
  • Ambitious, dedicated to continuous learning and personal development. Receptive to feedback and willingness to adapt
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail in all areas of work
