Ecolab is searching for a Business Development Manager within our Institutional Division that provides a comprehensive program of customized cleaning and sanitizing solutions to help meet the specific needs of restaurants, hotels and long-term care facilities, schools and commercial buildings.

The successful candidate will acquire new customers through the identification, prioritization, strategic analysis, and sales plan development/execution.  Business development will require working closely with marketing, divisional leadership & CAM team to develop and execute growth strategies by market segment.

What you will do:

  • Drive new customer acquisition directly and through key distributors

  • Manage significant deal volume and target account pipelines

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans based on the market segment & geography

  • Implement sales strategy, incentive & training programs to deliver distributor growth strategy

  • Leverage Ecolab innovations to acquire new customers, increase market share and secure customer loyalty

  • Leverage knowledge of industry and sales experience to establish credibility with current and prospective customers

  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts to inform management's strategic decision-making, and to reflect appropriate management of the territory and sales pipeline

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to win new business

  • Act as account manager for won accounts and coordinate retention strategy with District & Territory Managers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree major in food science, marketing, business administration.

  • Min. 5 years of experience in a business-to-business field sales environment

  • Fluent level of Spanish and English

  • Strong customer service skills and integrity with extraordinary ability to develop relationships with senior customer decision makers within chain accounts

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Sound commercial business understanding, incl. financial acumen, analytical ability

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand what the customer needs

  • Good organization and planning skills with a high attention to detail

  • Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Customer relationship management software, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or above degree, major in food science, marketing, business administration will be preferred.

  • Experience in dealing with large national and multi-national accounts

  • Experience in developing and maintaining relations at a senior level within customer accounts
