Job Description
The primary objective of the SDG Sales and Account manager is to conduct sales activities to sustainably and dynamically grow the sales area and reach commercial targets, specifically
- within the Microbiology (MBD) market in both Clinical and Industrial segments.
- for Gauteng, North West, Free State, Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces within South Africa.
- to direct Customers and Resellers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Sales activities within MBD strategy to drive sales within strategic product lines to maintain and increase profitability and revenue and achive targets set for region.
- Build and maintain a sales pipeline in equipment, reagents and service to ensure a balanced funnel for target achievement (in CRM).
- Supervise monthly performance to track achievements and develop strategies to ensure quarterly targets are met.
- Maintain and support current Account relationships to ensure Customer retention and expansion (cross-selling) to ensure brand loyalty.
- Develop and enhance customer relationships in all market sectors by offering high standard of support in all areas of our business.
- Collaborating with team members, mapping workflows for improved organization.
- Develop Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships with the other Commercial team members and Applications team to enhance Thermo Fisher Scientific Brand awareness.
- Collaborate with the regional and local Marketing team to disseminate MBD core strengths and product positioning and develop marketing campaigns; and provide feedback to the Commercial Lead and Marketing regarding developing market dynamics and collaborate to build competitive strategies in region.
- Grow Customer base (i.e. new or reviving lost accounts) by understanding needs, business goals and presenting turn-key solutions.
- Sales activities include active sales calls, customer visits, Key Account reviews, attending seminars/symposia, perform demonstrations and training (with FAS support), as per agreed targets.
- Review tender portals to participate in related tenders, with the support of the Customer Service and Field Applications departments.
- Develop a good understanding of the product portfolio to improve the sales potential.
- Maintain and use SalesForce for accurate reporting on activities, Account and Opportunity management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Science or related field, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or the equivalent education and experience are required.
Minimum Experience Level:
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Demonstrated experience in industry and/or academia in related field.
- Proven experience in a sales or commercial role related to industry.
- Experience in Industrial Microbiology and/or Clinical diagnostic industries
