Job Description
Position Overview:
This position will play a key role in understanding and executing the overall account strategy, working closely with and receiving guidance from senior management. This role is responsible for identifying, validating and securing new business opportunities for Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP) as well as maintaining and expanding profitable relationships with existing accounts. The account strategy will outline the current landscape of the customer’s business market and identify target markets and customers for ARP’s growth.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Execute Account Strategy: Implement the account strategy, including planned expansion or contraction for new and existing business markets for national and regional customer accounts
- Develop Action Plans: Create, maintain, and execute on action plan assuring how key account will achieve targets, identify specific actions to improve profit and grow the business
- Promote Sales Opportunities: Identify, promote, and ensure execution of sales opportunities.
- Contract Management: Apply effective contract management, transactional pricing, and opportunity identification according to Value Plus best practices
- Cost Recovery Negotiation: Negotiate the recovery of costs with assigned accounts and end-users
- Innovative Solutions: Develop tailored and innovative solutions for customers to create value for both customers and Amcor
- Manage Contracts: Oversee contract renewals and provisions
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including routinely visiting customer operations
- Quarterly Business Reviews: Hold reviews across customer organizations allowing both parties to extract value
- Forecast, AR, Inventory Management: Responsible for sales forecast accuracy, AR, overage inventory and daily business needs

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the commercial area in the packaging industry. An appreciation for operations experience desired
- Proven track record of accomplishment in account management, preferably in the PET beverage container space or other packaging categories catering to food, beverage and/or consumer packaged goods manufacturers
- Demonstrated business task execution with strong financial acumen
- Experience with negotiations; strong influencing and persuasion skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Extremely proactive and aggressive in seeking defined results
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce.com software desired
- Travel 50%
- Valid driver’s license
