SUMMARY
Utilizing teamwork, this position is responsible for leading and coordinating the operations of a warehouse facility. This includes ensuring and improving the safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and positive employee relations using the principles of TPS, and other strategies outlined by the company and division directives. The Group leader will lead a team in order to carry out the organization's mission.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Policy and program development, implementation, and continuous improvement,
- Provide professional technical assistance and training to management and team members,
- monitoring, statistical analysis/interpretation, and reporting of safety related KPIs
- Offers technical guidance in facility/process layout and design and regulatory compliance,
- Manages system implementation and auditing.
- Guides and assist operations personnel in accident investigation/analysis and development/implementation of countermeasures
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED
Typically an Associate's Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management. 3 - 6 years of relevant experience including supervisory experience, with 3 years experience in warehouse operations, distribution, and/or logistics. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsible for training employees, and directing or distributing work. Determining and/or planning work, and also performing the same kind of work as subordinates. TRAVEL

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Forklift certification is preferred but not required.
