Your Role in Our Story:
The SaaS Controller is a key member of the Digital management team, reporting to the Finance Director of ACT’s Digital business. In this role you will work side by side with the MD Digital and FD Digital providing key input, establishing and delivering the financial fundamentals for the delivery of the business strategy, as well as actively participating in its day-to-day management. This dedicated SaaS Controller will lead the successful financial set up of the recently established Digital directorate and related finance foundational activity in its underlying business units.
The Digital directorate is accountable for all Digital, Data and SaaS activity the ACT Group. Hence this person will also be the inhouse expert on establishing, setting up and delivering on the financial foundation for the Digital directorate. With the expected growth of the directorate, over time this role is expected to take on a team lead/ management role.
In essence, your role involves:
- Driving the financial integration into the -to be established- ways of working and framework for the SaaS Business in ACT. This also includes:

- Assess (financial) risk and opportunities, also on behalf of all Specialists (provided external compliance & minimal obligations are met). Key specialists are in the area of risk, compliance, legal, tax, treasury and controlling.
- Default owner of the controlled execution of all Finance process activities. Make sure compliance with lines set by Specialists, and company data requirements (incl Audit, authorities etc)

- Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
- Prepare flux analysis and highlight variances in accounts
- Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and revenue recognition
- Lead determination of capitalized vs expensed assets
- Determine eligibility for various tax incentives in each jurisdiction
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
- Manage cash management activities (accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking)
- Lead special projects (system implementations, process improvements, etc.)
- Assist in the Group annual audit and prepare supporting documentation
- Serve as the point of contact for SaaS finance throughout the organization
- Investigate and understand business requirements for SaaS sales globally (i.e. tax requirements, financial framework registration requirements, etc.)
Your Expertise:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8+ years in controlling and accounting
- 5+ years experience working in a start up or emerging SAAS firm is required
- Advanced Excel skills and prior experience with an ERP system
- Prior experience with Hubspot and Chargebee would be a plus
