The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Quality Technician to work at our food processing facility in Newberry, SC! Successful candidates must be willing to supply improvements suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal individuals must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work in a team orientated, fast paced work environment. This position requires individuals to perform general production duties in a food manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards.
Individual must ensure product and operations meet quality standards and work to identify and resolve any quality issues that may arise during production. This involves inspecting, testing and analyzing products and processes while working with production, sanitation, maintenance, USDA and plant leadership!

Work Environment and Schedule

  • First Shift - 5:30am-4:00pm (Monday - Thursday)
  • A minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as needed. Must have the flexibility to adjust shift schedule to work with employees on other shifts.
  • (Work is indoors, Primary production floor is wet, Secondary locations are occasionally wet, seasonal climate).
  • Must wear following PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): (bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, slip resistant safety shoes, ear plugs).


Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company policies, rules and procedures!
  • Retrieve shelf-life samples and samples to ship out.
  • Perform operational Sanitation Checks for the RTE area.
  • Conduct Micro Swabs, ease of opening test, thermometer calibrations, floor scale checks & salt analysis. Determine purges & residual air.
  • Perform random process audits & Warehouse audits.
  • Participate in RTE weekly correlation meeting.
  • Conduct Hold and release of product and Product Isolation.
  • Maintain QS Shipping location area.
  • Actively participate to ensure safety procedures.
  • Be a role model for plant personnel: maintaining a positive demeanor when collaborating with production personnel.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must possess basic math skills (able to calculate yields, lapse time of cool using military time etc.)
  • Basic computer skills and effectively communicate in English (both oral and written).
  • Ability to use Powered Pallet Jack and become certified.
  • Proper handling of chemicals and the ability to become chemical certified.
  • LOTO certified
  • Able to tolerate temperatures variances (ovens to blast chill cell temperatures)
  • Able to lift 40 pounds repetitively
