Job Summary
The Regional Product Manager (RPM) drives the execution of the Protein Solutions business unit’s (BU) strategy in the region. He/She is the champion in the region for the Business Unit and works closely with Regional Sales, Marketing and Innovation as well as Regional Finance, Supply Chain and Operations to maximize regional growth and profitability.
With a primary focus on the Beverage and Bars segment in the region, the Regional Product Manager for Speciality Proteins will drive profitable growth via new project generation, new technology introductions and the creation of new, mutually beneficial business opportunities.
Specifically, the RPM will:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of Protein Solutions beverage and bars segments in the region (market data, competitive analysis, areas of opportunity within key industries, etc.).
- Understand market and customer needs in the region. Develop and execute plans to match Protein Solutions capabilities with those needs.
- Develop business cases to drive new product development where market or key customer needs cannot be met with existing Protein Solutions technologies.
- Identify areas of emerging opportunity within the region (new applications, new channels, new business models) and prepare business cases to support BU investments.
- Manage regional pricing, within global guidelines, to maximize BU profitability.
- Champion the value-selling approach to positioning and pricing our technologies to support our premium market position in the region.
- Drive programs to generate business growth via projects at key customers. Work with Sales, Marketing and Innovation Teams to execute on key customer project objectives to build customer value and generate new sales.
- As needed, develop new channels to serve customers.
- Be an active participant on regional teams and processes, including BU relevant Industry Teams, Account Teams and monthly demand meetings.
- Develop and maintain key marketing / selling tools for the BU within the region.
- Be an energizing representative of the BU towards the Sales organization.
- Balance the short-term actions needed to deliver budgeted revenue and profit with the long-term activities to build a sustainable business growth.
- Champion good leadership behavior and demonstrate IFF’s core values in their approach to colleagues and work activities in general.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in either business, food science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Food Industry in either Product Line Management, Marketing or Sales.
- High degree of autonomy, self-drive and positive energy with a strong sense for communication.
- Demonstrated “can do” attitude with positive approach to problem solving.
- Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
- High degree of customer focus.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
- Ability to quickly diagnose and problem solve.
Preferred:
- Advanced business degree (MBA).
- 7+ years of experience in the Food Ingredients Industry.
- Experience in Sales and either Product Line Management or Marketing.
- Strategic Planning Experience.
- Technical experience with ingredients
