The Opportunity

TC Energy is seeking a Risk Reporting Analyst to join the Counterparty Risk team at our head office in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, Counterparty Risk, this individual will be primarily responsible for preparing and reporting on TC Energy’s counterparty exposures, handling daily margining activities, and maintaining the credit system. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced Counterparty Risk professionals, while contributing to the success of the team and broader organization.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc counterparty exposure reports for senior management and other internal stakeholders;
  • Analyze and troubleshoot counterparty exposures to ensure data is flowing into the credit system accurately from the source systems including manually uploading certain exposures on a monthly basis;
  • Communicate and respond to information requests from internal stakeholders;
  • Manage all aspects of daily margining requirements and related reporting;
  • Set up counterparties and contracts in the credit system and assist in the management of SAP customer master data maintenance;
  • Maintain the credit system to ensure it is functioning properly and manage system upgrades as required;
  • Recommend and participate in projects to improve processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce, Economics or business-related degree is required; 
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI and Excel and ability to understand and learn new systems quickly;
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data to identify trends and critical relationships to determine underlying issues;
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated flexibility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with others in a team environment;
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with internal/external customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and/or working experience in the oil and gas sector
  • Enrollment in a professional financial designation or post-graduate degree is considered an asset;
  • Relevant certifications for risk, finance or treasury
  • Familiarity with risk management practices across sectors or regions
  • Experience in project management methodologies and/or relevant certifications
