Purpose:
The Risk Analyst II will report directly to the AVP Business & Risk Reporting supporting Athene’s risk reporting function, partnering closely across the enterprise and business lines to provide accurate and meaningful reporting and analysis to internal and external stakeholders. The role will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, integrated thinking across all facets of risk management, and a desire to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of risk reporting and supporting processes and technology.
Accountabilities:
Risk Management Reporting
- Support risk reporting needs to senior management and Board committee meetings
- Support quantitative reporting needs of other risk functions (e.g., ALM, Derivatives, Asset Risk, Liquidity Risk, etc.)
- Collaborate with Risk and other subject matter expert reporting leads on Athene initiatives, key reporting, and presentations
- Support risk due diligence on new product/investment/M&A efforts with data analysis and reporting
- Adhere to reporting standards and controls to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting
- Document reporting processes in an auditable manner
Regulatory & External Reporting
- Support standard and ad-hoc risk reporting to Athene’s various regulatory bodies to ensure comfort with Athene’s risk taxonomy and framework
- Support standard and ad-hoc risk reporting to Athene’s various rating agency bodies including support for current ratings and building rationale for ratings upgrades
- Support reporting to external investors to articulate Athene’s risk framework, including views on investment risk, market risk or other special requests
Reporting Enhancement and Automation
- Support strategic development of long-term reporting solutions and data infrastructure
- Realize opportunities to improve the timing, efficiency, and automation for reporting deliverables
- Assist in strategic implementations of business intelligence analytics platforms and reporting tools
- Participate in initiatives to develop effective controls for data, data quality metrics and governance
Qualifications and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in life insurance, investment, or risk management preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel skills are required; PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visual Basic, and SQL skills are strongly preferred
- Experience with Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tools a plus
- Experience managing large quantity of data from various sources
- Collaborative style and demonstrated success contributing to a team environment
- Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Actuarial, Accounting or other analytically intensive disciplines preferred
