For the Linklaters Service Delivery Centre, we are currently recruiting for the Risk Expert role.
Your role
This is a dynamic and varied role in a supportive and friendly global team. You will be part of the firm’s Legal & Risk function which has around 100 team members across our global network. The role focuses primarily on managing the firm’s risk with regards to business acceptance. This is a challenging role that would suit an ambitious candidate looking for ample learning opportunities.
Day-to-day transactional responsibilities

Initiating and analysing conflicts checks in the firm’s conflict checking system and working alongside Conflicts lawyers to resolve legal and commercial conflicts with relevant stakeholders;

preparing responses to audit letter requests according to firm's audit letter policy, assuming the role of US audits coordinator;
-
reviewing Information Barriers queries and clash clearance (ethical walls management);
-
advising on the firm’s client engagement terms, policies, procedures and best practice;
-
reviewing and authorising IT requests with privacy and/or data protection implications as well as advising on unusual user activities on Linklaters network;
-
managing Share Dealing applications;
-
conducting regular quality checks, providing guidance and training for new joiners.
Team Support
-
Supporting Team Leader with workload management and as a first point of contact for all business acceptance related questions;
-
prioritizing and delegating work to others to ensure deadlines are met;
-
assisting with the supervision and development of Specialists by mentoring, motivating, and supporting them and providing honest, constructive, and timely feedback;

actively participating in on-boarding process for the New Joiners.
Development and support of the firm’s global Business Acceptance systems and controls
-
Supporting wider Business Acceptance team in relation to the ongoing development of the firm’s Business Acceptance compliance;
-
becoming proficient in the use and development of the firm's Conflicts checking;
-
seeking to enhance and build upon existing processes and participating in general Business Acceptance process improvements;

contribute to the development of knowhow and good working practices;
-
participation in ad-hoc projects.
What we are looking for
Experience:
-
2-4 years of professional experience in Operational Risk environment, Conflicts/new business acceptance, preferably in an international law firm,
-
Previous experience of working in document and/or database administration, reporting, controlling, or auditing.

Proven experience in data research and ability to review and digest information quickly.
Skills:

Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills,

Strong analytical skills with a systematic, well-organised approach and attention to detail,

Hard-working and flexible with a "can do" attitude with the ability to work independently and within tight dealines,

Team-oriented and able to promote good team spirit,

Good at developing relationships with lawyers and staff at all level,

Strong written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate effectively,

Able to balance the firm’s legal obligations with its business needs – i.e., “being commercial”,

Good problem solver; able to offer knowledgeable, practical, and creative solutions,

Able to manage and prioritise competing projects, often within limited timeframes.
