General Description:
Designer of high frequency analog integrated circuits for communications, electronic warfare, & radar systems.
Essential Duties:
Contribute technical expertise and work within a focused team that designs, fabricates, integrates, and tests RFIC and MMIC circuits and subsystems at frequencies ranging from 0.1 to 200+ GHz.
Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop state-of-the-art RFIC and MMIC circuits, subsystems and systems for a variety of applications such as electronic warfare, communications, radar and imaging.
Help lead and coordinate RFIC and MMIC design projects.
Additional job functions include solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, publishing papers, briefing customers, participating in proposal activities and assisting in marketing HRL expertise.
Required Skills:
Experience with high-frequency circuit, electro-magnetic and system simulators such as Cadence, ADS, AWR, VSS, Sonnet and HFSS for design of RF and analog integrated circuit based on III-V, CMOS and Bi-CMOS technologies, passives components, modules and subsystems.
Multiple tapeouts with different CMOS/BiCMOS and/or III-V MMIC processes is a must.
Experience with RF network analyzer measurements and testing of RFIC or MMIC and module components is required.
Working knowledge of high frequency circuit/system simulators and CAD layout for different RFIC and/or III-V MMIC processes.
A working familiarity with common passive and active microwave structures and network analysis techniques.
Knowledge of module and subsystem operation/integration required.
Familiarity with CMOS/BiCMOS and/or III-V MMIC foundry technologies and their layout practices is required.
Understanding of device physics desired.
Knowledge of large signal measurements and load pull is a plus.

Required Education:
Ph.D., or M.S., in Electrical Engineering
Physical Requirements:
Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, customers, operate complex electronic equipment, perform detailed analyses of integrated circuits/subsystems, and prepare written and oral presentations.
Ability to work well in a team and independently.
Applicant should have the ability to lead small design teams.
Must be willing to travel and work in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects, and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $132,765 - $165,983 + bonus + benefits.
