Revenue Controller

This role is a part of Finance team and provides support to lawyers in the UK region of the firm. The main focus is the control and management of Work In Progress (WIP), including regular online meetings with lawyers. Revenue Controllers also liaise closely with the billing team ensuring all invoices are raised in a timely manner. As this position is dedicated to the UK market, the standard working hours are 9.30 to 17.45 and the UK calendar of bank holidays applies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular meetings with lawyers to review the ledger and ensure all matters are billed on time, in line with client requirements and assist when necessary
  • Update a billing forecast reporting with comments from the meetings
  • Establish strong working relationships with lawyers and secretaries
  • Action requests from lawyers for financial information using existing reports and systems
  • Constant monitoring of WIP, billing and activity levels, to include arranging and attending meetings with the Departmental Managers/ Practice Managers to discuss
  • Liaise closely with the Billing Team ensuring that all invoices are issued in line with partners' and clients' requirements
  • Liaise with the relevant Credit Controller for each Department
  • Provide general assistance to the Revenue Control Manager with ad hoc project work, as and when required
  • Other  and ad hoc tasks & reporting
  • Comply with the firm's policies and any other legal obligations, and effectively manage risks to the firm where those risks relate to this role
  • Verifying and controlling partner credits
Requirements
  • Professional experience – at least 2 years of experience in the accountancy area and invoicing will be a huge plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (at least B2/C1 level) – day-by-day work in English
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office tools (especially Excel)
  • Readiness to work 2 days a week from the office
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills to conduct meetings with senior lawyers
  • Accuracy & attention to details
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task particularly when working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Positive team player and can-do attitude
  • Flexibility in end month, quarterly and yearly closure process
  • Knowledge of the Elite accounts system and of e-billing systems, would be an  advantage
