Evolv’s Revenue Accounting Manager will be a key member of the accounting team that’s responsible for Evolv’s revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP. With one direct report, the person in this role will also be responsible for performing research and analysis on issues that arise as part of the monthly close process, as well as documenting contract reviews and the performance of internal controls.
Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
- Within 3 months, we hope you will be able to: help reduce days to revenue close, improve accuracy of revenue reporting, and ensure that sales order approvals are not a bottleneck
- Improve sales order review process by removing bottlenecks and increasing speed while not sacrificing accuracy
- Work with experts needed in various steps of the process to resolve and generate know how to independently review non-complex orders
- Ensure smooth revenue and internal controls auditing procedures
- Create efficiencies and improvements both in and outside of any system, while gaining a thorough understanding of our SOX-compliant processes and controls with the order to cash cycle.
- Within 1 year, we hope you will be able to: understand our complex revenue accounting, identify issues with sales orders and resolve them on your own, act as a collaborative member of the Finance team and have grown your own accounting and decision making skills
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- Manage one direct report, a Revenue Accountant
- Reviewing sales orders, bookings and contracts, managing approvals in NetSuite and Salesforce
- Updating installation and fulfillment dates per revenue recognition rules
- Recording and reconciling all revenue accounts in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606
- Performing all related SOX processes and controls and identifying and assisting with implementation of improvements
- Identifying and perform needed monthly accruals
- Responsible for other related general ledger accounts and journal entries
- Participating with the accounting team in managing the general ledger, and closing the books
- Serving as main point of contact for auditors for revenue testing
- Assisting the billing manager with resolving invoicing issues
- An Accounting Degree is required for the role, along with strong technical accounting and Excel skills
- Public company and/or Big 4 Public accounting experience strongly preferred
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team?
Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Accounting team is comprised of SEC reporting & equity, revenue accounting, and general and operational accounting professionals. In this role, you will report to the Director of Revenue Accounting.

Where is the role located?
There is a strong preference for a hybrid role based in the Waltham office, at least 3 days per week.
What is the salary range?
The base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000- $135,000 + bonus+ equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
