About This Opportunity

We are seeking an individual with revenue accounting experience who understands revenue recognition in a dynamic and high growth organization. This role will work closely with the team on all aspects of the revenue process including being an expert in the revenue standard ASC 606 & ASC 340, contract review, application of appropriate revenue guidance under GAAP, internal and external reporting and more. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
What You Will Do

  • Review, draft, and execute sales arrangements to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and accounting standards under ASC 606.
  • Create and maintain the revenue sub-ledgers schedule under 606.
  • Work with Deal Desk to review draft contracts to ensure the T&C adheres to company accounting policy.
  • Perform month/quarter end revenue close tasks: propose and post revenue and deferred revenue JEs, ST-LT reclass, BS adjustment, and accounts reconciliation and flux analysis.
  • Review transactions set up for revenue recognition.
  • Review and approve commission amortization under 606.
  • Provide technical accounting assistance with special projects within the entire Quote-to-Cash cycle.
  • Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and resolve revenue accounting issues.
  • Manage deal review communications between revenue team and Sales, Sales Operations and Legal during contract negotiations and provide guidance and assistance to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Oversee and direct process improvement initiatives, finding solutions to complex revenue, billing and accounts receivable issues.
  • Prepare interim and year-end audit schedules for internal and external reporting.
  • Provide assistance in drafting revenue recognition policies and memos.


What We Are Looking For

  • 5-6 years of experience with a focus in the area of revenue recognition.
  • Big 4 & SaaS industry revenue accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong software revenue recognition knowledge and related revenue recognition pronouncements under US GAAP.
  • Solid knowledge of revenue accounting guidance under ASC 606 & ASC 340.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions and resolve revenue accounting issues.
  • A highly productive self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and multi-task efficiently.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to positively influence outcomes and ability to work across functions and levels of seniority.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in all MS Office tools, G-Suite, and Netsuite experiences are a MUST.
