Freese and Nichols, Inc. is currently seeking to add a Resilience scientist to our Tulsa or Oklahoma City, OK office.  Candidates will have the opportunity to work on projects for federal, state, and local government clients as well as private sector clients throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and along the U.S. Gulf Coast.  

 
Preferred candidates should have knowledge related the federal and state regulatory and grant programs.
This role requires:

  • Familiarity and understanding of regulatory and funding agencies including TCEQ, ODEQ, EPA, FEMA, USACE, USBOR. 

  • Experience with federal grant writing, preparation, and management. Candidates will be able to support our clients as advisor on grants and provide grant application review.

  • Resilience data analysis including use of statistics, GIS, visualization etc. 

  • Preparation of regulatory reports and documents.

  • Interaction with federal, state, and local government agencies.

  • Interaction with Tribal Nations and ability to act as Tribal Liasoin.

  • Ability to support climate resilience projects including coastal resilience. May include interpretation of global climate models for potential impacts of client’s infrastructure.

  • Support our Hazard Mitigation Planning efforts company-wide

  • Coordination with design engineers and stakeholder groups.

  • Development and delivery of oral presentations at public and client meetings.

  • The candidate may be required to travel, with overnight travel likely. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related natural field required

  • 8+ years of experience

  • Ability to utilize software including Microsoft Office products. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. degree is preferred.

  • Professional certification in appropriate field is desirable
