RESPONSIBILITIES
Support laboratory activities by:
- Learning the function and operation of laboratory instrumentation required for cell culture, including but not limited to biosafety cabinets, incubators and analytical equipment
- Learning the function and operation of laboratory instrumentation required for LNP production and characterization, including but not limited to mixers, purifiers and analytical equipment
- Performing, evaluating and documenting laboratory experiments in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, PPE and equipment
- Coordinating routine and non-routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment with LabCentral’s management department
- Overseeing general housekeeping, organization and improvement of laboratory and storage areas using 5S principles
Administrative tasks and other tasks:
- Staying current with SOPs and training
- Writing and revising SOPs as directed by supervisor
- Training of new employees on laboratory function and waste management
- Attending department and group meetings as required
- Following safety practices and procedures; use personal protection equipment (PPE) appropriate to the type of hazard and exposure potential
- Actively participating in identifying and resolving safety issues
- Contacting product manufacturers and vendors as directed by supervisor
- Generating Equipment Action Forms (EAFs) when new equipment is received or there is a change in the status of existing equipment
- Assigning logbooks to equipment as directed by supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years (M.Sc.) or 4+ years (B.Sc.) of relevant industry experience in LNP development with strong background in RNA therapeutics and education in related discipline (Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, etc).
- Experience with production and analytical characterization of lipid nanoparticles is required (DLS, Ribogreen, UPLC, SEC, etc). Familiarity with high throughput screening is a plus.
- Experience with traditional monolayer mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays is required. Familiarity with imaging analysis, FACS and complex cell culture models is highly preffered (ALI, 3D culture, organ-on-chips).
- Ability to work in a biosafety-level 2 environment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, display of good attention to detail and desire to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present technical data to internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills.
